Born in Manhattan, he grew up a Yankees fan on the Upper East Side and in Watchung, New Jersey, was the Yankees' 2019 first-round pick and won a Gold Glove as a rookie shortstop in 2023. At Double-A Somerset his go-to was the grilled chicken sandwich at Randazzo's in Raritan, and the Yankees' pre-draft dinner with his family and his 2021 Yankees Magazine interview both happened at Roots Steakhouse in Morristown.
