Bakersfield right-hander from Centennial High and Saint Mary's, who won the 2021 NL Cy Young Award with Milwaukee, pitched for Baltimore in 2024 and signed with Arizona for 2025. Asked for favorites around Scottsdale, he said "we are pretty big foodies" and named Buck & Rider and the new Belmont Kitchen & Cocktails near their east Scottsdale home among their favorites; in 2026 he told a Phoenix creator the family is "big on Uchi." In April 2022 he surprised fans by paying the tab at Leff's Lucky Town in Wauwatosa, the bar-tab stunt that grew into the Brewers' "This One's On Me" program.
