Montgomery-born shortstop who grew up in Selma, Alabama, and starred at John T. Morgan Academy, the Orioles' second-round pick in 2019 and the 2023 AL Rookie of the Year. He has a burger on Jimmy's Famous Seafood's menu, the Gunnar burger with Alabama white sauce, bacon and fried pickles, and a Miss Shirley's Cafe regular who has said he can't count how many times he's ordered from there; his blueberry-and-white-chocolate-chip pancakes carry his name on its menu.
