Washington Commanders · QB
Born in Fontana and raised in San Bernardino, California, he played at Cajon High, Arizona State and LSU, where he won the 2023 Heisman Trophy, and went second overall to Washington in 2024, then won Offensive Rookie of the Year. At Arizona State a 2021 NIL deal with Venezia's put his name on The JD5 pizza. At LSU he signed with Raising Cane's ("Nothing I like better than touchdowns and chicken fingers"), worked a Heisman-week shift at its Times Square flagship with Bo Nix and Michael Penix Jr., and has since given away bikes with founder Todd Graves in Baton Rouge and, as a Commander, in the DMV. He celebrated his Heisman night with family and friends in a private room at Sei Less in Manhattan. As a Commander he came to DC Prime Steaks in Ashburn for the May 2024 rookie dinner, and The Palm posted him at its Tysons Corner steakhouse in December 2025. Popeyes is his cheat meal.
