Kumamoto, Japan, slugger from Kyushu Gakuin High who spent 2018 to 2025 with the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, where fans called him "Murakami-sama," before joining the White Sox for 2026. On a July 2026 trip to Toronto he stopped by Zakkushi on Carlton with Blue Jays star Kazuma Okamoto. In May he also hosted a sushi dinner for teammates in San Diego; the Sun-Times didn't name the restaurant, so it isn't on the map.
