He sorted Spokane's Japanese restaurants by authenticity as a college student, got hooked on Sonic slushes, and still heads straight from Narita to a Capricciosa. His pick at Gonzaga was the Suki Yaki Inn downtown, Spokane's oldest Japanese restaurant, which closed in 2023.
