40 S Hawkins Ave, Akron, OH
The 1934 original Swensons on South Hawkins Avenue in West Akron, where curb servers sprint to your car with Galley Boys, tots and Floridas. Nance says he has eaten here 'hundreds of hundreds of times' and that it's his first stop when he's home; in September 2025 he worked a curb-server shift here with 20 percent of sales, matched by him, going to Akron Public Schools.
